Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the flu vaccine free for children?
Because children spread flu easily and vaccination helps protect them and those around them.
Can the nasal spray give my child flu?
No. It contains a weakened virus that cannot cause flu.
What if my child can’t have the nasal spray?
We’ll advise if an alternative vaccine is available.
Does my child need a second dose?
Most only need one. Children aged 2–8 with certain health conditions may need a second, four weeks later.
How long does protection last?
One flu season. Children need the vaccine each year.
